Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Swachh Bharat, Aquakraft Projects Pvt Ltd. and iTV Network launched the Swachhagraha, an advocacy platform in association with the Children’s Film Society of India on August 15, 2016.
“Children are the future of our country and clean drinking water, sanitation, nutrition, health & hygiene are the fundamental right of every human child irrespective of caste, creed sex, religion, demographic, social or economic strata. Swachhagraha is a platform to aggregate support, donors, partners, volunteers, ideas and innovations to make clean drinking water, safe toilets, adequate nutrition and hygiene across the schools in India thereby enabling a healthy and clean India. We will leverage the social media and will aggressively advocate the cause of ‘Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat, Sampann Bharat,” said Kartikeya Sharma, Founder & Promoter, iTV Network.
On the launch “SwachhShree” Subramanya Kusnur the architect of Swachhagraha said, “Swachh for us is sanitation & water for children health and hygiene and Agraha is an invitation to invite all the stakeholders of the society for inclusive development of India. The objective is to bridge the divide between the have’s and the have not’s. Swachhagraha’s mantra is “ By the Children, For the Children, Of the Children”. The entire program will be executed through colleges and universities in schools under their jurisdiction. College students will coordinate and facilitate the entire program to be managed by student council proposed to be set up in each school. Advocacy will be done on the perils of contaminated waste, lack of toilets and sanitation, girl child sanitation, garbage and litter. It is our strong view that any intervention preceding proper knowledge and advocacy is generally non sustainable.”
Chatur Ideas, a young and dynamic organization promoting the Start-Up India program across several universities & colleges by mentoring ideas and creating entrepreneurs will be the program implementation partner of Swachhagraha. Chatur Ideas is connected with over 450 colleges / universities across 125 cities in India. “We are very excited to partner with Aquakraft & iTV Network in Swachhagraha and equally more with over 80 colleges and 4800 volunteers joining the program on the Independence Day. This shows that India is ready for the revolution and inclusive participation is the only way to grass root development. We hope and are quite certain that all the 450 colleges across 125 cities in India will join the program. This will enable us to create Swachhpreneurs who will not only build enterprises but also will become guardians and mentors of drinking water and sanitation assets across the country and particularly schools in the hinterland,” said Devesh Chawla, Founder & CEO of Chatur Ideas.
“It is very heartening to see the support pouring from all quarters across schools, corporates and volunteers. A Nukkad Natak “ Swachh Baharat Sachh Hoga” scripted by Mokshada Amur & Mehak Srivastava, students of Mass Media communication, was enacted by children of 8 schools in Talassari, Maharashtra under the auspices of Larsen & Toubro Public Charitable Trust on Independence Day. Similarly over 2000 students of MVM Educational Trust at Andheri, Mumbai pledged their support to Swachhagraha by way of mentoring schools in rural areas in the outskirts of Mumbai. This is truly reflecting the mantra of the program and who better than children to bring about the much needed social transformation of the society at large,” concluded Subramanya who is the Founder Chairman & CEO of Aquakraft Projects Pvt Ltd.For more updates, be socially connected with us on
