I first met Radhakrishnan Nair, or Radhe as he was fondly called by his peers, on a cold December morning 17 years ago. I was a nervous new recruit thrown into the chaos of a live newsroom. Intimidated and totally out of my comfort zone of producing political debate shows, I was desperately seeking reassurance and then I was introduced to Radha Sir. He took me under his wing and put me straight to work, no questions asked. I sat right next to him for many years helping him produce CNBCTV18’s flagship show Bazaar and he taught me the ropes without making me feel inadequate about my own vulnerabilities. A reservoir of patience with the most infectious smile and no ego, Radha always made you feel special.

He truly embodied the spirit of TV18, to never turn down a challenge or an opportunity. After spending years at CNBCTV18, he transitioned to CNN New18, and made it look effortless, when it was anything but that. He gave his new role his heart and soul, just as he did with every task he took on. A mentor to so many, he was always a phone call away and a constant shoulder to cry on. I do believe that his calming presence and quiet persuasion shaped many careers.

He was Zen in the newsroom and the life of every TV18 party. Balancing a glass on his head, while breaking into some funky moves, he always set the floor on fire! Never holding back, he gave life his all.

Thank you, Radha Sir for the love you shared with us. May you find peace.

Shereen Bhan
Managing Editor, CNBCTV18
