Has Anand Narasimhan, senior editor, Times Now ended his innings with the news channel? If  sources are to be believed he is currently serving his notice period and is likely to join CNN-News18.

“He has not been coming to office for almost a week now, probably right after he resigned,” said a well-placed industry source to exchange4media.

The show ‘The Newshour 10’ which Narasimhan used to host is now being anchored by Madhavdas Gopalakrishnan, Senior Editor and Athar Khan, Consulting Editor with Times Now.

Anand Narsimhan also started to host the channel’s Hindi news show, The Morning Newshour at 8:30, which helped in spiking the channels viewership during that time slot. The show was introduced on May 8 after the launch of its Republic TV.

With a Mass Comm diploma and an MBA under his belt, Narasimhan came into limelight after the then 27-year-old, landed up a dream job with ESPN Star Sports by winning the ‘Close-up Dream Job-Harsha Ki Khoj’ contest.
He started out as a sports anchor with ESPN and branched out into mainstream news with Times Now where he worked for around a decade.

Though Anand Narasimhan couldn’t be contacted, exchange4media wrote to Rahul Shivashankar, Editor-in-chief, Times Now and Rahul Joshi, Group Editor, Network18 for official confirmation. The story will be updated if and when they respond to the mail.
