Ghanshyam Goel, DG (DAVP) appointed as Head of the Bureau of Outreach Communication

Indian Information Service (IIS-1984) officer Ghanshyam Goyal was appointed as head of the Bureau of Outreach Communication (BOC), a unit formed by merging the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), the Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), and the Song and Drama Division (S&DD).

Indian Information Service (IIS-1984) officer Ghanshyam Goyal was appointed as head of the Bureau of Outreach Communication (BOC), a unit formed by merging the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), the Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP) and Song and Drama Division (S&DD).

“Shri Ghanshyam Goel, a Selection Grade Officer of IIS Group 'A', presently working as Director General, DAVP, New Delhi is hereby appointed as Head of Bureau of Outreach Communication (BOC), New Delhi with immediate effect and until further orders,” the Ministry’s order read.

Before being appointed as the DG of DAVP, Ghanshyam Goel was the Director General of the Press Information Bureau.

In December 2017, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had integrated its three departments expecting more focused ads and campaigns for the government’s policies, etc, and to achieve a better reach of people.

The Ministry has also merged all the regional offices and the field units of DAVP, DFP and S&DD into 148 Field Outreach Bureaus (FOB), 23 Regional Outreach Bureaus (ROB) and 8 DG (zone), each unit will be headed by the ADG of the concerned region.
