Success in the media industry often comes with a double-edged sword—while visibility can open doors to influence and leadership, it also brings scrutiny, bias, and the constant pressure to sustain power in an unforgiving environment. The second panel at the exchange4media Women in Media, Digital & Creative Economy Summit on March 9, “Navigating Visibility: Women in Media & The Price of Power,” will address the complex realities faced by women as they break barriers and lead newsrooms in a high-stakes industry.

This session will delve into the unique challenges of navigating public roles while dealing with digital harassment, workplace pressures, and the mental toll of always being in the spotlight. Beyond managing these obstacles, the conversation will explore strategies for resilience, personal well-being, and sustaining impact as women rise to positions of authority in media.

The panel features an esteemed lineup including Shazia Illmi, National Spokesperson, BJP; Tamanna Inamdar, Executive Editor, NDTV Profit; Sonal Kalra, Chief Managing Editor (Entertainment, Features and Lifestyle), Hindustan Times; and Shreya Dhoundial, Executive Editor, Mirror Now. Together, they will share candid insights on balancing visibility with vulnerability and redefining power in the modern media ecosystem.
