‘BD was this huge powerhouse of knowledge’

As the news of Dr Bhaskar Das’s sad demise poured in, fond memories of BD (as we all at TOI Response called him), came flashing back.

An extraordinary man, who wrote his life chapters with his un-imitable zest and colourful presentation has indeed left a long tail of unforgettable impressions… Apart from being a trusted lieutenant of none other than Sameer Jain and Pradeep Guha, at BCCL, BD was this huge powerhouse of knowledge and both a seeker and a giver all his life (synonymous to his name Bhaskar, which means “Illuminated or light maker or The Sun").

From innumerable initiatives at Response to holding and contributing to various roles in the Media industry, he was this enigmatic teacher who gave more than he took from all the men and women whose lives he touched. His work towards the last few months on GenZ insights, is a true reflection of how committed this man was to learn and share about the mindful generation despite his health challenges!

A “Professor of Practice” as he called himself was a perfect combination of intellect, professionalism, purpose driven, humility and living life to the fullest. A teacher has gone but your legacy will continue to live on in all of us, following your myntra of leading life with “Loving Detachment”, a term you left me baffled with

Will miss u BD, my dancing partner ! Yes, the show will go on and you will certainly illuminate our paths from the other side of the rainbow.
