BARC Wk 46: Zee TV overtakes Star Bharat to lead Hindi GEC market

Zee TV captured the Hindi GEC market overtaking previous week’s leader Star Bharat with 677 million impressions, according to BARC Week 46 (November 11-17) with the latter slipped to third spot with 656 million impressions. ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ of Zee TV took the top two spots in the overall Top 5 Programs with 12.4 million and 11.9 million impressions respectively.

Zee Anmol retained its second spot with 664 million impressions.

Meanwhile, Colors and Zee Anmol maintained their hold over urban and rural markets with 451million and 508 million impressions respectively.

Urban Market
Like last week, Colors continues to dominate the market with 451 million impressions, compared to 432 million impressions it fetched in week 45.

Zee TV retained its second spot with 411 million impressions as against previous week’s 404 million impressions. Its two shows ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ took the first two spots in the Top 5 Programs with 7.5 million and 7.4 million impressions respectively

Star Plus’ position remained unchanged at number three with 361 million impressions. Its two shows ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ were at fourth and fifth spots with 5.6million and 5.5 million impressions respectively. 

Sony SAB climbed up to fourth spot from previous week’s sixth spot with 305 million impressions. Its popular show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’ took the third spot both in urban and overall with 6.6 million and 9.7 million impressions respectively.

Star Bharat maintained its fifth spot with 305 million impressions. 

Rural Market
Zee Anmol continued to lead the rural market with 508 million impressions followed by Sony Pal at 437 million impressions. ‘Ganga’ from Zee Anmol took the third spot in the Top 5 Programs with 5.5 million impressions.

Sony Pal’s 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ took over the Top 5 Programs with 7.2 million impressions while its ‘Baalveer’ and ‘Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan’ took the second and fourth spot with 7 million and 5.4 million impression impressions respectively. ‘Baalveer’ took the fifth spot overall with 8.9 million impressions.

Like last week, Star Bharat retained its third spot with 350 million impressions with its show ‘Kya Haal Mr Panchaal’ taking the fifth spot with 5.3million impressions. The same show took the fourth spot overall with 9.5 million impressions.

Both Star Utsav and Rishtey maintained their fourth and fifth spots with 327 million and 303 million impressions respectively.
