Amit Chopra has stepped down from the role of President and Head – Ad Sales and will be joining Samara Capital, highly placed sources have confirmed to exchange4media. He was responsible for heading the advertising revenues for entertainment, digital and sports.

Chopra joined Star India in 2013 as Lead Sales. A year later, he was moved to the position of Revenue Head, managing profits for distribution and ad sales. He then also served as CEO of Entertainment at Star supervising business delivery of drama and movie channels in Hindi, English, Marathi and Bengali languages.

Prior to his stints in Star India, Chopra was the CEO of Hindustan Media Ventures, a public listed arm of the HT Media Group.
