Hindustan Times Editor Bobby Ghosh announced four editorial elevations to the staff at HT Media on August 3. The foremost among them was the promotion of Deputy Executive Editor Kunal Pradhan as HT Delhi’s Editor. In his latest assignment, Pradhan will edit both HT Delhi Page 1 and metro section. “Kunal's promotion formalises the process, and restores the role of Editor, Delhi to its original dual function of supervising our city coverage and Page 1. Surrounded by an excellent team, I have no doubt he will bring to P1 the ideation and rigour that has helped to make our metro section the city's best,” said Ghosh.

Krittivas Mukherjee, another Deputy Executive Editor, will from now on be Managing Editor, Convergence. The decision has been taken in recognition of his efforts towards “driving the convergence of print and digital operations” at the Hindustan Times.  Besides Pradhan and Mukherjee, Sonal Kalra, who was until now heading HT City and Cafe, among other responsibilities, has been made Managing Editor, Entertainment.

Journalist Anup Gupta, who recently managed the launch of HT’s Pune Edition, bagged the fourth promotion after being appointed as Managing Editor, Integration. He has been mandated to restructure the legacy media house’s photo department keeping in mind the goals of the print and digital operations. “Sonal, Kunal, Anup and Krittivas will all report directly to me. It speaks volumes of the depth of leadership in our newsroom that we have such strong voices at the meeting table every day,” concluded Ghosh.

The editorial elevations at HT Media followed the announcements concerning the strengthening of the revenue faction last week. As part of the same, HT Delhi business head Ashu Phakey was promoted to COO – English Print Business whereas Sarabjit Singh Khurana was roped in as CRO – English from Hotstar.
