I&B sector got Rs 4,786 cr FDI in Apr-Dec, shows DPIIT data

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has said that the information and broadcasting sector has received Rs 4,786 crore as foreign direct investment in the first 9 months of 2024-25, as per media reports.
The sector, which includes print media, attracted Rs 1,264 crore with Walt Disney Rs 1,008 crore investment in Star India.
Prime Focus Technologies and Pocket FM also got Rs 1,100 crore funding from foreign entities in Q2, reports said.
Moreover, Warner Music India got Rs 136 crore from its parent company apart from investments in IPL team Gujarat Titans.
During the first half of FY 2023-24, the I&B sector had brought in Rs 6058.67 crore as foreign direct investment.
