HT ropes in former DNA CEO KU Rao as consultant

In a bid to restructure its team, Hindustan Times has roped in KU Rao as a consultant. Sources close to the development have confirmed to exchange4media that Rao came on board the organisation a couple of days back.

Prior to this, Rao had been with DNA for six years. In November 2012, he moved from his role as CEO of DNA to a corporate role in Essel Group as part of the senior corporate management.

Rao started his career in 1983 with companies such as Philips and Onida, essentially in a sales role. In 1994, he moved to Shell International Petroleum, where he had a stint spanning well over a decade. At Shell, he had worked in several countries, including India, South Africa, Singapore and the UK. Rao joined DNA from Shell.

He is a commerce graduate and an MBA from Andhra University and has 30 years of experience in the media and management fields.
