Mountain Dew has brought to the fore the story of a 23-year-old Off-Roader Aishwarya Pissay. The brand is paying tribute to the fearless athlete through a video that showcases how risk does not discriminate between men and women.

Pissay is the first Indian woman to win 5 National titles in Road Racing and Rally Championship combined. Her ride to success has been replete with ups and downs – a broken collar bone, life threatening injuries and months in the hospital.

Pissay has defied the odds each time to prove that racing is not only a sport for males, as traditionally believed.

“Motor racing has traditionally been a sport dominated by men. However, I am glad that this perception is slowly changing. The race track doesn’t present you with different challenges basis your gender. So why should riders be restricted to a particular gender,” Pissay said.

“I pledge to continue challenging the norm and showing the world that ‘naam banana’ is not something restricted to a particular gender. I strongly believe in Mountain Dew’s philosophy that anyone who has the desire to push boundaries and make a name for themselves will succeed.”

Aishwarya Pissay is part of Mountain Dew’s ‘Risk Utha Naam Bana’ initiative, which celebrates the spirit of those who push themselves to achieve the extraordinary. The ‘Risk Utha, Naam Bana’ campaign is based on the powerful insight that to make a mark one has to take risks.
