Colgate-Palmolive India reported a 4.3% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹341.57 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, as stronger toothpaste volumes and pricing supported double-digit sales growth.
Net sales rose 12.2% to ₹1,691.57 crore, compared with ₹1,507.24 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations was around ₹1,705.7 crore, while total income rose 12.6% to approximately ₹1,727.5 crore.
The company's toothpaste portfolio delivered high-single-digit volume growth, led by its premium toothpaste range and Colgate MaxFresh. Gross margin expanded 40 basis points year-on-year to 69.6%, supported by its Funding the Growth cost-efficiency programme.
Colgate also said it stepped up investments in brand building and premiumisation during the quarter, with MD and CEO Manish Anandani saying future growth would be reinforced by “strategic advertising investments”. The company has not disclosed an absolute advertising expenditure figure for Q2 in the material currently available.
The increased marketing focus follows a sharp rise in spending during the June quarter. Colgate's Q1 FY27 advertising expenditure increased 33.7% to ₹251.9 crore from ₹188.4 crore a year earlier, growing considerably faster than the company's 12% increase in net sales during the period. Advertising accounted for about 15.8% of Q1 sales.
The company has been directing investments towards premiumisation and category development as FMCG companies broadly maintain advertising support despite commodity and margin pressures. Colgate has also used high-reach brand integrations, including its partnership with Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 around nighttime brushing and oral-health awareness.
The board declared a ₹24-per-share interim dividend, involving a total payout of approximately ₹653 crore. The record date is November 2, with payment beginning November 19.
