Colgate-Palmolive FY12 ad spends up 16 pc
Showing strong growth in the toothpaste category, Colgate-Palmolive has recorded advertising expenditure of Rs 262.96 crore in FY11-12
Colgate-Palmolive (India) has reported net sales of Rs 2,623.8 crore for the financial year 2012, an increase of 18 per cent over the previous year. Net profit for FY12 grew 11 per cent at Rs 446.5 crore.
The company recorded 16.14 per cent growth in advertising expenditure at Rs 262.96 crore from Rs 226.21 crore in the previous year.
During the year, Colgate-Palmolive achieved a volume growth of 12 per cent, with the toothpaste category continuing its growth momentum at 14 per cent. The company enhanced its leadership position in the toothpaste category to 54 per cent volume market share (January-April 2012) from 52.2 per cent (January-April 2011).
Meanwhile, the company continued its focus on the emerging mouthwash category, with a volume market share of 26.2 per cent (January-April 2012) marginally up from 25.7 per cent (January-April 2011).
