Orhan Awatramani, better known as Orry, is not just a social media sensation—he's an experience and brands know this fact. With his extravagant lifestyle, viral presence, and offbeat humour, he has cemented his place as a staple on Instagram feeds everywhere.
Unsurprisingly, at Impact Digital Influencer Awards last night, Orry was named the Social Media Disruptor of the Year.
“This is the e4m Social Media Disruptor Award, and I think it's really fitting for me because every time you open your social media, your day gets disrupted by me,” he said at the event.
With his signature wit, he added, “You open Instagram, and I’m all over the reels.”
With 1.6 million followers, and 702 posts with witty, engaging content, Orry is a viral brand in himself. Last year, he expanded his digital empire by launching his own Instagram shop, Orry Shops, bringing his signature style and eccentricity to his fans in a tangible way with his fun merchandise.
He has collaborated with major brands like Tinder, Crocs, Puma, and several others on Instagram. More recently, he made his acting debut.
Never one to hold back, Orry shared some of the most bizarre messages he receives on Instagram. “Every day, I get messages from people asking for ₹30,000 for this, ₹10,000 for that. They even send me their QR codes and ask me to GPay them.”
And does he ever respond? Surprisingly, yes. “Sometimes, out of pure boredom, I’ll reply and say, ‘Okay, if you send me a hospital bill or a college bill, I’ll actually send you the money.’ And then they ghost me. A scam is a scam, but I respect the hustle.”
While many influencers have a long list of cringeworthy online moments, Orry insists he has none. “Is there any? I wouldn’t even know because, you know, sometimes even if I embarrass myself, the audience just loves me so much that I wouldn’t realise it was meant to be embarrassing. They’d still be like, ‘You go, Orry! You do your thing!’”
People often ask Orry what he’d be doing if he weren’t on social media. His answer? “If I didn’t have social media, I’d be on a train because I’d be upset. No, but seriously, I’d be a candle vlogger.”
One of the biggest questions surrounding Orry has always been: What exactly does he do? His answer remains as legendary as ever. “I create content out of my own life. What happens in my actual life just gets documented into content, so I don’t go out of my way to write or perform a skit.”
With a dramatic flourish, he concluded, “I am living my life, I am documenting it, and I am serving it to you guys. I am a liver.”
Despite winning the Social Media Disruptor Award, Orry made it clear that awards don’t define him. “I validate myself every morning. But today, I’m happy to be validated by e4m.”
When asked what award he’d like to win next, his response was simple: “I’m not looking for an award.”
In true Orry fashion, he left the stage with a final, self-assured declaration: “I am just living my life. And you all are watching.”
