Telugu news viewership on the rise as polling progresses 

In Week 15, when Andhra Pradesh went to vote, TV9 Telugu recorded a jump of nearly 18 million impressions compared to the previous week, as per BARC data

With the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections also coming to an end, the election fever is increasing its grip. And there has been a considerable increase in news channel viewership. 

As per data issued by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) for Week 15, the Telugu news channels have been witnessing a steady rise in viewership for the past two weeks. 

TV9 Telugu, the market leader in the Telugu news genre, recorded 59.5 million impressions and 49.5 million impressions during Week 13 and Week 14 respectively. 

Andhra Pradesh went to polls on April 11 and during that period (Week 15: April 6 to 12), TV9 Telugu’s viewership rose to 68.2 million impressions. 

Sakshi TV’s viewership too increased from 37.5 million impressions in Week 14 to 56.3 million impressions in Week 15. Meanwhile, NTV Telugu marked 50.5 million impressions in Week 15 compared to 39.2 million impressions in the previous week. 

Similarly, TV5 marked 44.1 million impressions compared to 31.6 million and 34.3 million impressions in Week 14 and Week 13 respectively. 

V6 News marked 40.3 million impressions as compared to 38.9 million impressions in Week 14.
