Rana Barua, President of The Advertising Club (TAC) India and Group CEO of Havas India, South East & North Asia (Japan & South Korea), Havas Group - India, opened the 24th edition of the Effie India Awards 2024 by reflecting on the growing prominence and competitiveness of the prestigious event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Barua highlighted how the awards have evolved, becoming larger and more fiercely contested with each passing year. "Effies have become bigger, larger, and more competitive. This year also, it will be very competitive," he said, setting the stage for an evening that celebrated outstanding advertising campaigns from across the country.

The Effie India Awards 2024, held at Taj Lands’ End in Mumbai, saw an impressive 1,152 entries from 75 agencies, underscoring the industry's commitment to innovation and impactful communication. Barua expressed his pride in the industry’s achievements, congratulating the winners for their exceptional work. “This year, with over 1,152 entries and an extraordinary level of participation, the awards continue to set benchmarks for the industry. Congratulations to all the winners for their innovative campaigns that resonate deeply with audiences and drive measurable impact. These awards reflect the collaborative brilliance of our industry, and I’m proud of what we have achieved together,” he told media.

The night also saw key industry players being recognised for their excellence. Mondelez India Foods Pvt. Ltd. was named Effie Client of the Year, while Ogilvy Group India claimed the title of Effie Agency of the Year, a testament to their ongoing creativity and success in the advertising space. The Grand Effie, the highest honour of the evening, was awarded to Leo Burnett India for their highly effective campaign for ACKO General Insurance, ‘ACKO: Health Insurance Ki Subah Ho Gayi Mamu.’

As the awards continue to set new standards, the Effie India Awards 2024 proved once again that the creativity, collaboration, and innovation within the advertising industry are shaping the future of communication.
