Cannes Lions 2017: Wieden+Kennedy bags Bronze in Film Craft Lions for Nike's Da Da Ding

Nike’s Da Da Ding was the only Indian campaign to be shortlisted for the Film Craft Lions

Nike’s Da Da Ding campaign, conceptualised by Wieden+Kennedy, Delhi - the only Indian campaign to be shortlisted for the Film Craft Lions at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity - won a Bronze on Friday.



The power-packed video, which almost became an anthem of women’s grit and determination, features actor Deepika Padukone along with a number of leading women athletes. The film was aimed at urging India’s next generation to break conventions and stereotypes to define their own success by bringing sports into their lives.




Talking about the campaign, Mohamed Rizwan, Creative Director from Wieden+Kennedy, Delhi said, “Well, assuming this is not some kind of mistake in the vein of La La Land for Best Picture, we're quite thrilled! But really, it’s an award for Gener8ion for making a track brimming with feeling, and Nike for trusting us with it. We couldn't be more pleased.”



From 2490 entries overall in Film Craft, 103 Lions were awarded: 17 Gold, 33 Silver and 52 Bronze Lions, and the Grand Prix went to ‘The Blaze - Territory’ by Iconoclast, Culver City for musician The Blaze. Jury President Robert Galluzzo, Founder/Executive Producer, FINCH, Australia, said the work was more than an award-winner. “It’s a gift to the festival audience. It’s a stunning example of what vulnerability and poetry can look like on screen,” he observed.
