AFAA’s action plan for Asia
The Asian Federation of Advertising Associations to undertake a skills re-orientation initiative for young professionals
The Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA) held its first Executive Committee meeting at Kuala Lumpur on May 22.
The newly-elected Chairman of AFAA Pradeep Guha noted that they deliberated an action plan for Asia for the immediate future.
The Executive Committee of AFAA has planned out a number of initiatives that would be rolled out in the months ahead. The first in line is a skills re-orientation initiative that would be held in September in Kuala Lumpur. Through it, young professionals will be exposed to a programme that has been carefully crafted keeping in mind the needs of the profession.
The Advertising Council of India (ACI) that represents India on the AFAA International Council would be kicking-off a process to allow three young professionals from advertising, media and marketing respectively to attend the programme.
Providing a cross-cultural flavor to the program, there would be a master-class with 30 students from countries all over Asia.
AAFA was set up to meet the objectives of unifying all Asian associations involved in the various aspects of advertising, to upgrade standards, ethics and practices of advertising and to bring a more meaningful contribution from advertising activities to both regional and national socio-economic development. It aims at setting up the necessary mechanism for Asian Advertising Congresses, fostering self-regulation and devising and implementing educational programmes.
