Nai Dunia ties up with Star Plus for 'Nayika Club'

Hindi general entertainment channel Star Plus has joined hands with Hindi daily Nai Dunia for its women centric weekly activity Nayika Club. With Star Plus joining in as the principal sponsor, Nayika Club now spreads its wings in 13 towns of Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking on Nayika Club concept, Vinay Chhajlani, CEO, Nai Dunia Media said, “While women are said to be the other half of the population and the constitution of India too guarantees equality of sexes, the common woman is still largely uninformed and subject to oppressive conduct. From the newspaper’s perspective, we see female readers forming only one third of our readership. Therefore, we thought of reaching out to the women of the city, perk up the interactivity with them as readers and encourage them to come forth and speak up.”

He further noted that the free membership format of Nayika Club was introduced in May 2009 at Indore and this popular activity has been running successfully since then.

Named after the weekly women’s magazine ‘Nayika’, Nai Dunia Nayika Club is a kind of activity wherein interactive sessions are organised for ladies in different areas of the city. The participants get an opportunity to interact with experts on issues such as self development, social problems, health, fitness, diet, self defence, banking, child care etc.

Speaking on this tie-up, Anupam Vasudev, EVP Marketing and Communications, Star India Pvt. Ltd. remarked, “Every activity ends with fun games for the participating ladies. Star Plus has always celebrated the spirit of the woman. In this emotional and endearing relationship with our viewers there have been many milestones. One such was when we took the pledge of ‘Rishta Wahi Soch Nayi’ and unveiled our philosophy in the background of changing India while maintaining the values that have endeared ourselves to our viewers.”

He further said, “We have forged relationships with our viewers at multiple platforms and levels. The Nayika Club is one such initiative which will complement our efforts. We will work towards making it an empowering and at the same time an entertaining interaction.”

Meanwhile, Arpan Chatterjee, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, NaiDunia Media, stated, “With ever increasing following of Nayika Club amongst women, it made sense for us to come together with popular channel like Star Plus. This has helped widen the scope for both of us in the Hindi heartland. While Nayika Club will expand its base horizontally, Star Plus gets to interact directly with its TG.”

Nayika Club will now have a new format which is going to be more interactive, friendlier and much more fun filled. The activity is now being introduced in various cities within Nai Dunia circulation area which includes Ujjain, Burhanpur, Bhopal, Sagar, Gwalior, Bhind, Jabalpur, Satna, Rewa, Chhindwara, Damoh and Katni.
