Air-conditioners advertising in Print grew 6% in 2004.

Key Findings:
· 6% rise in Air-conditioners Advertising in Print in 2004 compared to 2003.
· Month-wise, the highest advertising was witnessed in April 2004 in Print.
· Top 5 spenders accounted for 70% of the advertising share.
· Delhi publications got maximum advertising from Top 5 Spenders in Print in 2004.

This week, AdEx India looks at the Air-conditioners category. First, let’s take a look at Air-conditioners advertising spends across the years in Print.


Across the year 2000-04, 2002 showed a dip of 18%. Thereafter, it grew 2% in 2003 followed by 6% rise in 2004.

Let’s also look at the advertising pattern of Air-conditioners across months in 2003-04.

Maximum Air-conditioners advertising was witnessed in April in 2004 whereas 2003 showed peak advertising in May in Print.

Let’s look at the Top 5 Spenders in Print advertising.


· Interestingly, the Top 5 spenders accounted for 70% of the share.
· LG India Electronics comes on top with 27% of the advertising share.
· Samsung India is in 2nd position with 17% share.

Let’ now take a look at the publications state-wise used by the Top 5 Spenders in ’04 in Print.

 


 

· Delhi publications were the thrust for the Top 5 Spenders.
· Maharashtra publications were the next preferred lot.
