Vyas Giannetti Creative Sports will be revamping CAG Shield, the 20-year old cricket tournament for advertising and media professionals. Visage Images is the presenting sponsor, while exchange4media, Radio One and Mid-Day are the media partners for this year.
“The main challenge today is to ensure that the younger generation upholds the spirit of the tournament and carries on the traditions of the CAG Shield for generations to come. VGCS is all set to take the CAG Shield to the next level by making it the World Cup of advertising,” said Anand Yalvigi, Business Head, VGCS.
Sixteen teams will participate in the tournament – O&M, GroupM, Lowe, Percept Advertising, Ad factors, Bates India, Rediffusion DY&R, RK Swamy/BBDO Advertising, Ambience, Interactive Avenues, Contract Advertising, Vyas Giannetti Creative, Euro RSCG/MPG, Madison, Network, and Law & Kenneth.
The CAG Shield is a 45-day annual cricket tournament that will start on February 3, 2007. The league matches will be held at select venues every Saturday in Mumbai, and will be followed by quarter-finals and semi-finals. The finals will be followed by a glittering prize distribution ceremony attended by the luminaries of the industry.

It is the only tournament for advertising agencies and there is no complication of the industry being divided as in the award shows. It’s healthy, competitive and yet loads of fun.
