Union Bank of India signs Motivator as media AoR

Union Bank of India has finalised its media agency following a multi-agency pitch and the decision has gone in favour of Motivator. The bank had empanelled five creative agencies – Mudra, SSC&B Lintas, JWT, Interpublicity and Pressman Advertising – in May 2006. The account size is estimated to be around Rs 25 crore.

The media pitch culminated about a fortnight back and had been going on for the last one month. Even as official comments were not available, senior officials of the bank confirmed the development, indicating that it was Motivator’s approach to the bank’s requirements in communication that clinched the deal in the agency’s favour.

The win comes close on the heels of Motivator bagging the Barclays Bank account. Now, with the addition of the Union Bank of India business, the agency has crossed Rs 130 crore in new billings in 2006. It is interesting to note that Motivator had bagged yet another ‘bank account’, that of Bank of India, earlier this year.
