BEI Confluence is all set to strengthen its presence in East India. As part of this initiative, the agency has roped in Dhiman Dasgupta as Vice-president, Eastern India operations. He will be assuming charge from December 2006.
Prior to joining BEI Confluence, Dasgupta was with Magnum Intergrafiks as Branch Head, Kolkata. He has had experience in both agency and media business.
Confirming Dasgupta’s appointment, Tapas Gupta, Managing Director, BEI Confluence, said that the agency was very bullish about growth in East India. He further said that the Kolkata business, which currently stood at around Rs 5 crore was expected to double soon.
“Dhiman has extensive experience and has worked in different parts of the country and has seen the national picture. We were looking for someone who had the national perspective and are happy to have him with us. We are hoping for a lot of growth from the Eastern region and catapult into the big league,” Gupta added.
Dasgupta said, “In Kolkata, we are trying to build a new client base and we have very ambitious plans for growth.”
Currently, the agency’s Kolkata portfolio includes Tata Motors, Oriplast, West Bengal Forest Department, NTPC, Ajanta Footwear, Balmer & Lawrie, and Priya Biscuits, among others.
