'Being on e4m PR & Corp Comm list makes us believe OneSource is doing great work'

Sandeep Rao, CEO at One Source Consultancy Private Limited, who won the recognition of being amongst the top 40 people under the first batch of the “e4m PR & Corporate Communications 40 under 40” list says such recognition helps believe that OneSource is doing good work for the betterment of community.

In an interaction with exchange4media, Rao spoke about his entrepreneurial venture, OneSource, and future endeavours.

How do you feel being a part of the elite list?

The list brings about a strong sense of belief in the fact that what we are doing at One Source is for the betterment of the community. The work is its own reward for me, therefore this list helps believe that we must continue helping the 9,000+ One Source members we have been able to assist over the past six years, relentlessly.

What were the trends that kept 2019 buzzing in the communication industry?

The move from traditional reputation management to integrated reputation management, the trend of consumer journalism and ORM thereon, and the client belief that it is not specialists for PR, digital marketing and content marketing that are the need of the hour, but that specialists who understand all three and more, holistically, is what spurred the communication industry to new heights in 2019. When a client expects a PR specialist to understand the impact of visual content on owned media, the communication person is bound to re-skill, therefore I would say '2019 has been all about reskilling for the communication industry'.

How will this recognition by e4m add value to your profile and the communications industry at large?

Our work is its own reward. I am thankful to the entire exchange4media team as well as the jury for having considered the work we do at One Source award-worthy. Any award is proof-of-pudding that work being done must continue ad infinitum.

What are your future plans?

The other venture I head as CEO is 'One Source, the integrated marketing consultancy', which has grown at a 50 per cent run rate MoM for the past year. The forum, One Source, which I have been recognised for, is our pro bono venture which has got more than 60,000 stories done for over 10,000 brands and innumerable media people across the last 6 years, helping innumerable journalistic and PR members among our 9,000-strong member base. We have got jobs for more than 700 people over as much time as well. The future plans, as told to Mr. Batra and the esteemed jury board remain the same, to continue doing what we are doing, i.e. benefiting industry at scale.
