Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited has announced the appointment of Sundaram Damodarannair as Chairman of the Board in the capacity of Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director, effective 18 September 2025.

The appointment was approved by the Board at its meeting held on 15 September, following the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Damodarannair's current term as Non-Executive, Independent Director and Chairman of the Board, which commenced on 18 September 2020, will conclude at the close of business on 17 September 2025, marking the completion of his second consecutive five-year term.

Subsequently, the Board has approved his appointment as an Additional, Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director, liable to retire by rotation. Subject to shareholder approval, he will serve in this capacity until he attains the age of 75 on 15 April 2028.

Sundaram Damodarannair started his career at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) in 1975 as a management trainee. Over the years, he held several senior roles, including working in London for six years and later serving as Chief Financial Officer from 1999 to 2008. He became Vice Chairman and CFO before retiring from HUL in 2009.

Alongside his new role at Crompton Greaves, he is also on the boards of Infosys, Zurich Kotak General Insurance, and Credila Financial Services.
