- Sonali Mathur has been appointed as the Global Head of Data and Analytics at Abbott, transitioning from a decade-long career at General Motors (GM).
- At GM, Mathur held various leadership roles, including Head of Data Technology and Operations for Global Marketing, and Associate Director of Data Enablement.
- Her experience at GM also includes positions in data governance, customer experience, and international operations, as well as a background in data warehousing and software development.
- In her new role at Abbott, Mathur will oversee global data and analytics initiatives, leveraging her expertise in enterprise data strategy and analytics-led business transformation.
Sonali Mathur has taken on a new role as Global Head of Data and Analytics at Abbott, following a decade-long career at General Motors (GM), where she held leadership positions across data technology, governance, analytics and customer experience.
Mathur most recently served as Head of Data Technology and Operations – Global Marketing at General Motors from March 2022 to December 2024.
Prior to this, Mathur was Associate Director and Head of Data Enablement at GM from January 2021 to March 2022.
Between November 2019 and December 2020, Mathur served as Senior Manager, Data Governance and Privacy at GM.
Her earlier roles at GM included Senior Data and Technology Manager – Customer Experience Programs and Technical Program Manager – Global Connected Customer Experience. She also served as Global IT Lead for GM's international operations in Shanghai, and held data-focused roles in North America.
Before GM, Mathur worked as a Datawarehouse Tech Lead at Compuware from September 2009 to June 2011, managing more than 30 enterprise data warehouse components through the software development lifecycle. She began her career as a Software Developer at Mahindra Satyam, working in Sydney, Australia, from 2006 to 2008.
At Abbott, Mathur takes on global responsibility for data and analytics, bringing experience in enterprise data strategy, data governance, privacy, technology operations and analytics-led business transformation.
