PayTm ropes in former IAS Bimal Julka as Non-Executive Independent Director

PayTm has appointed former IAS Bimal Julka as a Non-Executive Independent Director, the company informed Bombay Stock Exchange.
Julka has been an IAS of 1979 batch from Madhya Pradesh cadre. He has been Central Chief Information Commissioner as well.
“His appointment, effective January 20, 2025, is for a term of five consecutive years, subject to approval by the members of the company as per the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, and SEBI Listing Regulations,” the company stated.
Bimal Julka brings a wealth of experience and expertise, which is expected to strengthen Paytm's governance and decision-making processes.
Additionally, the Board of Directors of Paytm Cloud Technologies Limited (PCTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Paytm, has greenlit the incorporation of new subsidiaries in the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.
“These entities will function as step-down subsidiaries of Paytm, aiming to expand the company's global footprint and leverage opportunities in these dynamic markets,” the company stated.
