IBM's Virginia Sharma joins LinkedIn APAC as Director, Marketing

Virginia Sharma has recently joined LinkedIn Asia Pacific as Director of Marketing for Talent Solutions. She joins the organisation after a 15-year stint at IBM, which she joined after graduating from the University of Virginia in March 1999.
In her new role, Sharma will be responsible for building a high impact, result-oriented marketing team across Asia Pacific that is tightly aligned to sales and develops world class data driven and digital demand generation campaigns to grow the LinkedIn Talent Solutions Business in the region.
At IBM, Sharma rose through the ranks in various global and regional marketing roles, including Asia Pacific and North America and in 2008, she became one of the youngest executives at IBM. In 2009, she moved to India and subsequently became CMO of IBM India/South Asia. During that tenure, she was awarded the Top 25 Outstanding Marketing Leaders of India and was active member of various CMO advisory councils in India.
She also served as Chairperson of the Data Driven Marketing and Advertising Conference in June 2013.
