Amagi brings on board Bhaskar Gupta

As Head of Corporate & Network Sales, Gupta’s mandate is to look at newer sustainable avenues of revenue

Amagi brings on board Bhaskar Gupta

Tech media company Amagi Media Labs has roped in Bhaskar Gupta as Head of Corporate and Network Sales. Gupta assumed charge on January 7, 2013 and reports to National Sales Head Rajiv Singh. His role at the organisation is to look for newer sustainable avenues of revenue.

On his appointment, Gupta said, “The technological applications developed at Amagi infuse a lot of energy into the broadcast sales and I am excited about monetising them with all business associates.” He will be working out of Amagi’s Mumbai office.

Gupta was previously with UTV Broadcasting for two years as AVP (Network Channels), Business Development. In this role, he managed revenue acquisition and enhancement through additional streams such as analogue and D2H, with a diversified client portfolio spanning music, teleshopping, Central Government, non-metros and Tier II cities.

Commenting on Gupta’s expertise, LS Krishnan, Business Head at Amagi said, “Bhaskar brings in rich multi-disciplinary media experience into Amagi in its crucial growth phase. We are sure that he will play a pivotal role in getting Amagi into the next orbit.”

Gupta has rich experience in multiple media formats, wherein he conceptualised and executed innovative ideas enabling enhanced revenue streams for different categories. With a career chart spanning 12 years, Bhaskar’s first job was at The Times of India, where he was looking after Ascent and also launched ET Appointments as a separate supplement. After a stint of around a year there, he moved to Jobs Ahead into the role of a Relationship Manager, managing both Retail and Corporate Sales. Post this, he returned to TOI as Deputy Manager (Response) to handle the display business. After more than four years with the organisation, he moved to Mid Day Infomedia as their AVP – Brand Solutions. In this role, he was responsible for revenue acquisition through brand solutions, instilling a solutions-oriented approach in the sales team and creating a separate business for content monetisation. After more than three years in Mid Day, he joined UTV Broadcasting.

Gupta completed his B.Sc in Statistics from Fergusson College, Pune in 1996 and MBA in Marketing from the Neville Wadia Institute of Management in 1999.
