Alok Agrawal steps down as Zee News CEO, heads to RIL

Alok Agrawal has recently put in his paper as CEO of Zee News. He is joining Reliance Industries (RIL). Incidentally, RIL has recently also brought on board two other senior media professionals – Gautam Chikermane and BV Rao.
Agrawal announced his move on Twitter by tweeting: “Delighted to share my move to Team #RIL. Thank you Team @ZeeNews”.
When contacted, Agrawal confirmed the news to exchange4media and said that his stint with Zee News “was very good, very productive and enjoyable. It was my fortune to have worked with Zee”.
Agrawal had joined Zee News on October 2, 2012, when he replaced Barun Das.
He has over 22 years of experience. Prior joining to Zee, he was with Cheil, where he was COO. He had joined Cheil in 2008 from Bates, where he was Executive Vice President. Prior to that, he was with Grey Worldwide as Associate Vice President. He has also worked with Euro RSCG India as Group Account Director.
