As per data sourced from TAM subscribers, Week 33 saw Zee TV surge ahead with a huge gain of 38 million GVTs. Colors is the only other channel apart from Zee TV that saw a huge rise in ratings this week
As per data sourced from TAM subscribers, Week 33 (August 10-16) of 2014 saw Zee TV surge ahead with a huge gain of 38 million GVTs. The channel, which is positioned at No. 2, had seen a major dip in ratings in the previous week to 415 million GVTs. The channel has recorded 453 million GVTs in Week33. Zee TV seems to have overcome the distribution problems that it faced due to the Hathway-Taj Television row, which had presumably affected the channel’s ratings last week.
Colors is the only other channel apart from Zee TV that saw a huge rise in ratings this week. The channel saw an increase in its ratings from 403 million GVTs in Week 32 (August 3-9) to 411 million GVTs this week.
Star Plus saw a drop in its ratings to go below the 700-million GVT mark again. The channel retained its leadership position among Hindi GECs garnering 689 million GVTs in Week 33, as against 712 million GVTs in the previous week.
Meanwhile Life OK’s saw its ratings slide from 312 million GVTs in Week 32 to 302 million GVTs this week. The channel had seen only a marginal increase of 1 million GVTs from Week 31 to Week 32.
With Sony Entertainment Television’s (SET) ratings continuing to plummet, sister network channel, Sab TV, has overtaken it to capture the No. 5 spot on the ratings’ chart. SET’s ratings for Week 33 declined to 263 million GVTs from 278 million GVTs in the previous week, pushing the channel down to the sixth position.
Sab TV, on the other hand, scored a marginal gain from 277 million GVTs in Week 32 to 278 million GVTs this week.
New entrant Zindagi did not see a change in its ratings since last week and stayed at No. 7 with 26 million GVTs in Week 33.
