After split from ZEE, SB Multimedia launches IBC 24 channel in MP

Two months back the contract with Zee for Zee 24 Ghante Chhattisgarh was dissolved, SB Multimedia has forayed into the Madhya Pradesh market with its channel IBC 24. The channel goes on air from June 19, 2013.

Calling the launch a natural expansion for the group, Anurag Agarwal, VP, Corporate Sales, SB Multimedia said, “We are planning to cover a population base of 100 million people and add Madhya Pradesh as a market. We want to operate in both MP and Chhattisgarh.”

Talking about the key focus areas, Agarwal said, “The channel’s primary aim has always been to deliver relevant and credible news to our viewers across the length and breadth of the country. If the content is worth watching, then viewers and advertisers follow. Most importantly, the management is making sincere efforts to make the channel available in the entire state of Madhya Pradesh right from the word go. A sizeable amount is being spent to ensure connectivity of the channel.”

He further said, “Recently, IBC 24 was the first channel to break the news of the Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh and the footage was shared with all the leading national news and current affairs channels.”

“The budget being planned for publicity and promotion during the MP launch is considering the fact that we are operating in a regional news space and the same requires sustained efforts over a period of time,” Agarwal concluded.
