Last year, exchange4media extended the reach of the event to create an exclusive South India edition. This year, the second exchange4media Conclave-South will be held on November 30 at Taj MG Road Bangalore.
This year the event is themed on the topic ‘Emotional Connect and the Distracted Consumer’. Creating an emotional connect with the distracted consumer is a challenging task in this hyper-connected world. Industry leaders will come together at the Conclave to discuss methods of creating and strengthening this connect.
The keynote address this year will be given by Vishak Kumar, CEO of Madura Fashion & Lifestyle (MF&L), a business unit of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL). He spearheads India’s most iconic fashion brands such as Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England. An alumnus of IIM Bangalore and a qualified Computer Engineer from BIT Ranchi, Kumar joined Madura as a Management Trainee in 1995.
As the COO for Louis Philippe, Kumar is credited for accelerating the brand’s growth to make it the largest, most profitable and undisputed leader in the premium men’s apparel segment. Known for his mentoring skills, Kumar brought about a transformation in the fashion business by training and developing 400 fashion consultants across the business.
Kumar was the CEO of Aditya Birla Retail Limited (ABRL) from 2014 to 2016. During this time, he spearheaded the Supermarket and Hypermarket business which is amongst the leading food and grocery retail companies in the country. His contribution to modern retail has set new benchmarks for the food and grocery business with its `Quality 1 st ’signature brand philosophy.
In his 23 years with the organisation, Kumar’s contribution to the Group and the Fashion and Retail industry is noteworthy. In 2014, he received the ‘ABG Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Leader’. He was also conferred upon the prestigious title of ‘Aditya Birla Fellow’ by the Group in 2015.
A keen sportsperson, Kumar enjoys playing squash, badminton and tennis.
