Zee TV to start three new shows next month

For Zee TV, there is quite a lot coming from the programming front. The channel is all set to start three new shows 'Business Baazigar', 'Sindoor' and 'Swarth' in March. The second season of its big-ticket reality show, 'Zee Cinestars…' and a telefilms band 'Zee Premiere' are also in the pipeline. With the revamping of the existing shows and Zee Cine Awards, Zee TV has quite a lot for its viewers.

'Business Baazigar' is a major initiative on the weekend, which sees participation from Zee Telefilms Chairman, Subhash Chandra. Of the other new shows, 'Sindoor' is coming as a daily at 7.30 pm and 'Swarth' too as a daily on 10.00 pm. The channel has already changed the look of shows like 'Antakshari…' and 'Sare Ga Ma Pa'. All three shows are slated for the month of March.

Also, in the March-April period, the channel will also bring back the season two of 'Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj'. Commenting on this, the channel's spokesperson, Ashish Kaul says, "Post the astounding response we received for Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj, we are most certainly taking it forward. It will get into the second round and in a few weeks from now we will be deciding the future course of action."

Zee has some of the big blockbusters for the viewers in the coming weeks. Apart from 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', the channel has also procured the rights for 'Aitraaz', 'Musafir' and 'Raincoat'.

On the 'Zee Premiere' band, Kaul says, "Zee Network is producing a series of movies that are specially being made for the Zee Network on the 'Zee Premiere' band. They will primarily be shown on Zee TV and eventually on other Network channels. These movies are special also in a way that they have been made by eminent Directors like Kundan Shah, Sudhir Mishra among many others."

While the channel has procured some movies and others are in the pipeline, the idea is to create a sufficient bank before moving on to the telecast of these movies. "This is likely to be a primetime initiative though the right timing will be announced in sometime. This will be a weekly initiative," says Kaul.

Zee TV has put together quite a few initiatives for its viewers. Different day parts, different kinds of genre and innovations in the present style do mean that the channel means business and some has a plan of action that competition should take notice of. If the industry word is to be believed, while there is so much in March, there is quite some more that can be expected in April, 2005.
