Zee Telugu launches two new shows to grab more eyeballs

To keep pace with the changing pattern of television viewing and give viewers a different kind of fare, Zee Telugu has recently launched two new shows – ‘Sabhash Andhra Pradesh’ and ‘Diamond Rani’.

Sabhash Andhra Pradesh, which was launched on December 6, is reality show. This show provides a platform for the people of Andhra Pradesh to showcase their unusual and hidden talents. ‘Diamond Rani’, which was launched on December 11, tests the oratorical skills of the people. Popular television anchor Udaya Bhanu is hosting this live show.

According to Zee Telugu officials, ‘Diamond Rani’ was a unique show where the anchor announced a topic and the viewers could pick up the phone and speak on the topic. The topics would be mostly on contemporary issues and it could either be a casual or controversial one. Viewers are required to express their views on the particular topic.

The show would last for half an hour during which the anchor would take five calls. At the end of the show, two speakers would be selected and given diamond jewellery. The show will also have an SMS contest where viewers can get a chance to win diamond jewellery by SMSing the correct answer to a question asked everyday. This show would be on air in the 9-10 pm slot.

This apart, the channel is also planning to come up with a youth band, Yuva, soon. According to Zee TV officials, the band would feature fast paced, informative and fun filled programmes targeting youths.

The channel plans to air interviews of several youth icons such as Sania Mirza, Mithali Raj, Harikishen, Karunya, Hemachandra, Koneru Humpy, Jwala, Rayudu, VVS Laxman, Azharuddin, and Pullela Gopichand, among others.

Rasool Ali, Business Head, Zee Telugu, said, “We have launched these new programmes as we wanted to give different, unique fare for the Telugu speaking audience. A lot more game shows and kids entertainment bands are in the pipeline.”

It may be recalled that the channel had also launched six news-based programmes recently.
