ZEE designates Ashish Sehgal Chief Sales Officer

Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE) has named Ashish Sehgal the Chief Sales Officer of the company. It may be recalled that Sehgal was promoted to Network Sales Head in November 2011.

The development is effective immediately. Sehgal continues to report to ZEE President Rajesh Jejurikar.

In an internal mail, Jejurikar said, “Ashish Sehgal has been officiating as the Head of the Sales Team since Nov 2011. He has led the team ably since then and delivered results in a tough environment. We are sure that he will lead the team to deliver exceptional performance and play a key role in driving organisation growth.”

In a conversation with exchange4media, Sehgal said, “It is a very competitive time to be in the Indian media industry. There is an ad gloom around but Zee management has stated that the company will do better than the market and that is our objective right now.”

“Even as all Zee Network channels have been doing well, the perception game is managed by the general entertainment channel. The fact that our flagship channel Zee TV has done very well in the last three months has brought positive energy in the network. We have been able to monetise the performance of our channels and are right now focussing on how fast we can monetise the GRP-upswing of Zee TV as well,” added Sehgal.

Sehgal had joined ZEE in January 2011 taking over the responsibilities of Zee Network’s ad sales for the northern region. Prior to that, he was with STAR India, where he was handling the all-India sales of Star Gold.
