Week 8 ratings: Colors regains No. 2 slot, Zee TV sees big dip

In week 8 (February 15 – 21, 2015), most of the top Hindi GECs saw marginal gains in viewership, except Zee TV and Life OK. Colors soared to No.2 spot, as its ratings increased during the week.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for week 8, Star Plus on top saw its position strengthen as it increased to 636 million GVTs from 623 million GVTs in week 7. The channel’s ratings had declined to 622 million GVTs last week compared with 645 million GVTs in week 6.

Colors reclaimed the second spot with a gain in ratings to 444 million GVTs in week 8 from 434 million GVTs in week 7. It saw a large drop the week earlier, where it reduced to 434 million GVTs in week 7 from 454 million GVTs in week 6.
In yet another slip, Zee TV once again took a big loss as its ratings fell to 418 million GVTs from 448 million GVTs in week 7. A week earlier it had seen a marginal decline in its ratings from 451 million GVTs in week 6.

Life OK, too, declined this week as it registered 316 million GVTs down from 330 million GVTs in week 7. Life OK saw a slight rise in its ratings last week with its GVT increasing from 310 million in week 6 to 330 million in week 7.
Sab TV saw a marginal increase in its ratings this week to 286 million GVTs from 285 million GVTs in week 7. A week earlier its ratings had dropped from 294 million GVTs in week 6 to 285 million GVTs in week 7.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) too increased its ratings marginally to 254 million GVTs in week 8 from 253 million GVTs in week 7. SET also saw an increase in ratings last week with the GVTs climbing from 236 million in week 6 to 253 million in Week 7.

Zee Anmol saw its ratings rise this week to 102 million GVTs from 93 million GVTs last week. Star Utsav, on the other hand, declined marginally to 92 million GVTs from 93 million GVTs in week 8.

Rishtey also saw a marginal rise in its ratings to 56 million GVTs in week 8 from 54 million GVTs in week 7. Big Magic too witnessed a rise in its ratings this week to 47 million GVTs from 46 million GVTs a week earlier.

Sony Pal saw a rise in its ratings this week to 39 million GVTs in week 8 from 25 million GVTs in week 7. Zindagi too saw its ratings rise to 22 million GVTs in week 8 from 17 million GVTs in week 7.  

Sahara One saw its ratings rise to 10 million GVTs this week from 9 million GVTs last week.

Epic channel declined this week to 7.2 million GVTs from 8.9 million GVTs last week.
