Week 5 ratings: Zee TV back at No. 2; growth for Star Plus, Life OK, Sony

As per the TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers in the HSM market for Week 5 (January 28-February 3) of 2014 was a mixed week for the GECs as far as viewership is concerned, as compared to the previous week, which saw the major GECs witnessing fall in viewership. The No. 2 spot has seen some action in the last few weeks. Zee TV, which had slid to No. 3 position last week, claimed the No. 2 spot this week, pushing down Colors.

Star Plus remained the top GEC with gross TVTs of 627 million, a growth from 606 million TVTs in Week 5. The channel had seen a fall in viewership in the previous week.

Zee TV’s gross TVTs of 468 million pulled it back to the second position in Week 5. The channel has grown from the 441 million TVTs it had garnered in Week 4.

Colors slid back to No. 3 and continued to witness fall in viewership in Week 5 at 447 million TVTs. The channel had seen degrowth in Week 4 as well, with gross TVTs of 449 million.

Life OK’s growth curve continued to see an upward trend in Week 5 as well, with the channel recording 387 million TVTs, as compared to 375 million TVTs in the previous week.

Sab TV, on the other hand, saw a slight dip in viewership at 319 million TVTs, as compared to 323 million TVTs in Week 4.

Sony Entertainment TV remained at the sixth position, but saw growth in viewership in Week 5 at 298 million TVTs, as compared to 254 million TVTs in the previous week.
