Vinay Tewari joins Headlines Today as Managing Editor

Headlines Today has announced the appointment of Vinay Tewari as Managing Editor. Tewari is slated to join Headlines Today effective October 1st 2014 and will report to Kalli Purie, Creative Director, TV and New Media, India Today Group.

With this appointment, Tewari returns to India Today Group. He was Metro Editor and Senior Producer, Aaj Tak between 2002 and 2005.

Tewari has a work experience of over 21 years. Previously, he held the position of Managing Editor of CNN-IBN, Network18’s English news venture, for 9 years. He also started to oversee the Hindi news channel IBN7, since January 2014. He led the launch operations of the Mumbai-based Marathi news venture, IBN Lokmat, and has been its mentor ever since. Tewari was responsible for synergy between multiple platforms of Network18, including other TV channels in genres of core entertainment, music, lifestyle, and factual entertainment, digital, print, besides leading marquee events and initiatives.

Tewari was Deputy Metro Editor, The Times of India from May 1994 to August 2002, where he joined the newsdesk and was part of the team that launched Delhi Times.

Tewari started his career in journalism with English newspaper The Pioneer as a Staff Reporter in February 1993.
