Vijay TV launches fourth edition of comedy show ‘Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru’

Vijay TV has seen three successful seasons of its first comedy show `Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru', introducing several talented performers who have become popular among television viewers in Tamil Nadu. Continuing its success wave over three years, Vijay TV has now launched `Vodafone Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru 4 – Kalakkal Aarambam' on January 25.

Over 1,000 talented participants took part in the auditions held in Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy and Tanjore districts, out of which 60 were selected. These participants have begun making their first appearance in ‘Vodafone Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru 4 – Kalakal Aarambam’ from January 25, 2008 on Fridays at 10 pm.

The fourth innings of this show has a lot up its sleeve. Rs 5 lakh awaits the king of comedy, who wins the ‘Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru 4’ title. Besides the prize money, the winner will also get a chance to host one of the upcoming shows on Vijay TV along with a chance to act in a Tamil feature film. As in the earlier editions, the fourth season will have a bouquet of talented performers who will prove their mettle in mimicry, stand-up and variety.

Commenting on the uniqueness of the fourth season, R Balachandran, Vice-President, Strategic Planning and Marketing, Vijay TV, said, “‘Kalakapovadhu Yaaru’ show has generated lot of original talents, thus maintaining its entertainment factor. The channel is proud to be launching its fourth series as it has been successful in sourcing fresh talents over the past seasons.”
