Vijay TV creates primetime band of reality shows replacing daily soaps

Vijay TV is all set to create a 9 pm band with a series of reality shows replacing the daily soaps. ‘Super Singer 2008’, dance reality show ‘Amul Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva’, and celebrity dance show ‘Jodi No. 1’ are the three reality shows that would dominate the prime time band on Vijay TV soon.

After the success of ‘Super Singer’ in 2006 and 2007; Vijay launched the third edition of the reality voice hunt in July 2008. Post the auditions, 80 zonal contestants will fight out for the coveted title. The winner would get the chance to sing the songs composed by well-known music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. The show has already premiered and is aired Monday-Wednesday at 9 pm.

‘Amul Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva’ is a dance reality show that would hunt for Tamil Nadu’s next Prabhu Deva. Endorsed by renowned dancer/ choreographer Prabhu Deva himself, the show provides an opportunity for aspiring dancers to showcase their talent. Launching in August, the show will air on Thursdays and Fridays at 9-10 pm and would be part of Vijay TV’s primetime reality band.

Buoyed by the success of two seasons of celebrity dance show ‘Jodi No. 1’, Vijay TV will be launching the third season of the show. The show will air on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, thus completing the reality band on the channel throughout the week.
