Vijay TV 'Bonds' with 007 to win eyeballs

Even as ‘Sivaji mania’ continues to hypnotise the Southern part of the nation, Vijay TV, known for screening dubbed Tamil versions of Hollywood films, is gearing up for ‘Bond mania 007’. A series of James Bond movies will be aired on Vijay TV from July 8, which will go on till October 28. Beginning with the first Bond movie ‘Dr No’, to Pierce Brosnan’s ‘Die Another Day’, Vijay TV will showcase 16 Bond flicks, every Sunday at 11 am.

Other hit Bond movies like ‘From Russia with Love’, ‘You Only Live Twice’, ‘Golden Eye’, ‘License to Kill’, ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ and many more are all lined up on Vijay TV every Sunday’s at 11:00am.

As part of the promotions, the channel has also planned a ‘Watch n Win’ contest, whereby viewers have to watch the films, and answer questions asked during the breaks. Winners will get original VCDs/DVDs of Bond films.

Ravinath Menon, General Manager, Vijay TV, said, “The ‘Absolute Bond’ festival on Star Movies proved to be a good property, scoring well on the rating charts and on the revenue front as well. ‘Bond Mania 007’ on Vijay TV will definitely be a treat to the viewers, as they can watch all the five actors who have essayed the role of the secret agent, in action. These Bond films have been already established in our Sunday 11 am block that has showcased many of the best Hollywood blockbusters in the past.”
