Uday Shankar begins new innings as News Director & Editor, STAR News

Former News Director of Aaj Tak, Uday Shankar, has officially joined STAR News as News Director and Editor, replacing Sanjay Pugalia. Shankar assumed office on February 16.

Shankar told that he saw new challenges in taking up the current assignment. Meantime, speculation is rife on the road ahead for Pugalia. Apparently, he was offered the post of Director Communications. Also, doing the rounds is a speculation that Pugalia might leave STAR News. But both Shankar and the official spokesperson of STAR News maintained studied silence on the issue.

However, STAR News President Raveena Kohli put the speculation to rest. She told that Pugalia will do the special election programming for STAR News. It’s pertinent to mention here that Vinod Dua had moved on from STAR News to NDTV India to do the special election programming for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Kohli added that Pugalia’s new designation has not been finalized yet.
