Triveni Media expands portfolio with VOI MP/Chhattisgarh and VOI Rajasthan

Going regional is the mantra now for Triveni Media Ltd, the fully-owned subsidiary of real estate and infrastructure group Triveni Infrastructure Development Co Ltd. After launching its Hindi news channel Voice of India in June 2008, Triveni Media has now forayed into the regional news space with two channels – VOI Rajasthan and VOI MP/Chhattisgarh. Both channels were launched on September 12.

Rahul Kulshreshtha, CEO, Voice of India, said, “With their local flavour, content, look and feel, both the channels seek to reach every nook and corner of their respective states – Rajasthan and MP/Chhattisgarh. Although the major focus is regional news, we are leaving no scope for missing out on major happenings at the national level. The programming teams of both the channels have come up with different concepts with an absolutely fresh touch. Both VOI Rajasthan and VOI MP/Chhattisgarh channels have a content mix of news, current affairs and local programmes.”

Kulshreshtha further said, “Going forward, the USP for both the channels would be special focus on election-based coverage – ‘Chunav Sangram’ and ‘Janadesh 2008’.”

Meanwhile, Triveni Media is now gearing up to launch VOI Gujarat and VOI Bangla channels in the news genre, as well as VOI Millionaire channel, touted as Asia’s first high-end luxury channel.

All the regional channels are being headed by Associate Group Editor Rajesh Badal.
