Star One to launch reality dance show ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’

Star One is all set to launch ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’, a battle of the sexes on the dance floor. The show, spread over 22 episodes, will start in the second week of July. The show has been produced by production house SOL, which has produced shows like ‘Koffee with Karan’ and ‘Nach Baliye’.

Not being gender biased and taking the neutral stance, Ravi Menon, EVP, Star One, said, “Being unique and presenting the audiences with something exclusive has always been our forte. The gender war will get an all-new meaning with this show and we hope to push the envelope of fun and entertainment. We have roped in the best dancers from the television industry for both the teams so as to ensure a fair battleground. We have been redefining television viewership with all our new programming content.”

Prem Kamath, Vice-president, Marketing, Star India, said, “We are obviously going to target the main metros, but we also plan to target small towns.”

Kamath is tight-lipped on the marketing strategy of the show. He said, “As of now, we have not decided on any strategy yet, even the launch date is not fixed, but, yes, there are some innovative programmes coming soon.” Kamath also said that the show is going to be slated in primetime but the exact time is not yet decided.

The show will feature twice a week with the best of celebrities from the television industry who will be pitted against each other to prove their superiority. The first day will be the ‘Performance Episode’ for 1.5 hours while the second day will be the ‘Challenge Episode’ for 1 hour. Each ‘Performance Episode’ will have seven different performances involving both teams, and the jury will decide one winner. For the weaker team, the ‘Challenge Episode’ will give an opportunity to bounce back. It comprises eight girls against eight boys.

The contestants are Delnaaz Paul, Karishma Tanna, Maninee De, Narayani Shastri, Mouni Roy, Rupali Ganguli, Jennifer Winget, Ali Asgar, Bhaktyaar Irani, Gaurav Chopra, Manish Goel, Chaitanya Choudhary, Amit Tandon, Vikas Sethi, and Child Artist Swini Khare and Amey Pandya will also take part in this upcoming show.

There will be no eliminations and no public voting; the show will be based on the jury’s final verdict. It will not only present viewers with some stimulating dance moves but also showcase the best of strategies in order to score over the opposite team. From understanding the next move to playing mind games to being extremely manipulative, the show will have the ‘mundas’ scheme against the ‘kudis’ and vice-versa in the strategy room.
