Southern stars to light up Vijay TV’s Diwali offerings

Vijay TV is gearing up to celebrate Diwali with much fanfare. The channel has roped in some of the biggest stars from Kollywood and has lined up programmes that promise wholesome entertainment for viewers during the Festival of light.

The channel roped in Kollywood’s hot pair Vijay and Trisha for the chat show ‘Koffee with Anu’, where the duo is expected to share some interesting secrets. Then there is ‘Sillunu Oru Kalyanam’, which will showcase the biggest star wedding in recent times, that of Jyothika and Surya.

The channel will also feature ‘Gee Boom Vikram’, a magic show performed by popular magician Vasanth in which he holds actor Vikram spellbound with his magical prowess on the streets of Singapore.

For adventure lovers, the channel would telecast the Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Mummy Returns’ dubbed in Tamil. The channel has also planned a special Diwali edition of ‘Hutch Kallaka Povadhu Yaaru’. This time popular Tamil actor Satyaraj, along with judges Pandyarajan and Sadagopan Ramesh, would join the ‘Hutch Kallaka Povadhu Champions’ to entertain the viewers.

Vijay TV would also telecast a debate programme hosted by ‘`Dindigul Leoni’. Well-known lyricists of Tamil filmdom like Kannadasan, Vairamuthu, Vaali and Pattukotai Kalyana Sundaram and their works would be the central point of the debate.

Some other programmes lined up by the channel for Diwali include ‘Saratheepawali’ which will take viewers to actor Sharad Kumar’s home and join him in his Diwali celebrations. Another programme, ‘Malarum Ninaivugal’, will see singers like P B Srinivas, TMS, M S Viswanathan , L R Easwari and P Susheela come together to pay a musical tribute to the one and only Sivaji Ganesan.
