Sahara launches its Delhi-centric news channel today

After more than two months’ test run, Sahara Television's much awaited Delhi and NCR-centric news channel goes on air on July 22.

The Sahara Delhi & NCR Channel is the fifth regional news channel from Sahara Television. The other channels are Sahara Mumbai, Sahara Bihar & Jharkhand, Sahara Madhya Pradesh & Chattisgarh, and Sahara Uttar Pradesh & Uttranchal. This will be the second news channel launch this year after Total TV, which was launched early this year.

The 24-hour Hindi news channel has been conceived as an infotainment channel. Headed by Prabudh Raj, formerly news coordinator with Sahara Samay (the national news channel), Sahara Delhi & NCR will be a racy, pacy, and youthful channel targeting young students and women, besides the hardcore news buffs.

exchange4media has learnt that this channel will have an hourly news and programming wheel. Three dedicated OB vans and V-Sat connected bureaus in the satellite towns of Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Noida will form part of the news gathering network.

The channel promises to have a lot of live input and interactivity in its diverse programming on lifestyle, fashion, food, shopping, health and fitness, sports, education, and city issues, besides giving user-friendly information on traffic updates, city events, train and air timings, etc.
