Real downsizes operations in India; Turner & Alva Bros ‘reassessing’ biz plans

Real Global Broadcasting Pvt. Ltd. (RGBPL), operator of Hindi general entertainment channel ‘Real’, has announced its decision to downsize its operations in India. An official statement quoted, “The joint venture partners, Turner and Alva Brothers Entertainment are reassessing RGBPL’s business plans.”

It is understood that even as the company would see the exit of a sizeable set of its people resources, at present not much would change in the top management.

Real officials stated that the plans would be announced as soon as they are confirmed.

The statement also said: “Turner and Alva Brothers Entertainment partnership in the entertainment business goes back many years and remains strong as it continues to explore opportunities within the entertainment industry in India.”
