Pragya Channel to launch by August-end

Pragya Channel, a venture of Pragya Vision Ltd, is slated for launch by August-end. The channel would have spiritual content to better lifestyle. Pragya Vision is a group company of Century Communications, a multi-faceted group with interests in television, radio, film, VFX and animation.

Pragyan Bhattacharya, Head of Programming, Pragya Channel, said, “We are all set to launch the channel at any given date. From technical and content side, we are ready. It’s just a matter of an opportune moment. In fact, we started beaming the test signals from July 30, 2007.”

Bhattacharya further pointed out that in a busy and informed age, where people wanted more for every second spent in front of television screens in terms of content, quality, and relevance and something which had been largely missing in Indian television experience, Pragya channel filled this space by promising to bring content which would be engaging, relevant and rewarding for viewers.

Talking about the technical and editorial aspects, Bhattacharya said that Pragya had state-of-the-art equipment, the finest technical professionals and experienced editorial hands to make the channel stand out in the crowd. “Since our group philosophy is to be the best in all our spheres of activity, we simply could not have opted but for the best in class arrangements,” Bhattacharya added.
